DARPA plans literal “all seeing eye” spy satellite
Reports Physorg.com,
“It sees you when you’re sleeping and knows when you’re awake” could be the theme song for a new spy satellite being developed by DARPA. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s latest proof-of-concept project is called the Membrane Optical Imager for Real-Time Exploitation (MOIRE), and would provide real-time images and video of any place on Earth at any time — a capability that, so far, only exists in the realm of movies and science fiction.
DARPA, whose “Information Awareness Office” logo at one time actually displayed the classic Masonic pyramid with the “all seeing eye” casting its power across the entire globe, apparently plans to turn the government into just such an agency.
The logo bore the Latin phrase “Scientia est potentia”: “Knowledge is power.”
DARPA says,
To meet national security requirements around the world, it would be optimal to have real-time images and video of any place on earth at any time—a capability that doesn’t currently exist. Today, aircraft are used for some imagery requirements.
When a stranger peeps into our window, we call it a crime. When the government does it, they call it “national security.” But somehow having a video camera filming my comings and goings 24/7 doesn’t make me feel so secure.
Maybe this great technology could help stop those brave Norwegian police stop those filthy Swedes fromsmuggling butter.
