Concerned Women for America Jack, Before we take a very short break to celebrate the birth of Christ and spend some time with those we cherish, I wanted to pass along a wonderful message to you from Congressman Cliff Stearns (R-Florida), a staunch pro-life, conservative who serves honorably as the Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, as well as on the Veterans Affairs Committee. He is a long-time friend of Concerned Women for America, who like us is committed to restoring the foundations of faith, family and freedom. Dear friend of CWA,
It is indeed a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to address the members of Concerned Women for America. For many years, CWA has been a beacon on Capitol Hill, effectively fighting to keep issues of faith and family front-and-center in our national debate.
Given the climate on Capitol Hill these days, this is becoming an increasingly difficult challenge, but one that CWA is uniquely prepared and qualified to answer.
Let me give you a recent example. Several months ago, I was responsible for launching an investigation into the practices of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider and recipient of more than $360 million in taxpayer funds. Almost immediately, my office came under intense attack from PPH supporters who were directed by PPH officials to “bury me and my office” beneath a sea of petitions and phone calls.
During that critical time, the encouragement I received by Penny Nance and the CWA team was invaluable. It was a tremendous boost to learn that more than 40,000 CWA friends specifically signed a petition opposing PPH funding.
For decades, CWA has been an unflinching ambassador for faith and family issues on Capitol Hill, committed to bringing our nation back to its God-centered foundation. I am grateful for their outstanding efforts and ability to get things done in such adversarial conditions.
I can’t tell you how important it is to have friends like Penny and CWA fighting for faith and family. It is my understanding that CWA is in the midst of a very important year-end fundraising drive so the organization can meet the critical needs of the coming year. I hope you will consider supporting the efforts of CWA and their mission in any way you see fit -- especially now with our very culture under such intense attack.
