Mathew Staver, Chairman Liberty Counsel Action President Obama said it again on Sunday night: His plans and vision for America stand in stark contrast to ours. Don’t you sometimes wonder why liberal activists like the President see America’s culture clash so clearly, while many conservative Americans struggle to understand the deadly serious consequences of this “battle of visions”? I firmly believe the 2012 elections will be, in fact, the most important elections of our lifetime. In order for Liberty Counsel Action to help usher in the right kind of “change” in 2012, it is extremely important for us to know that we are united with you in our visions, platforms, messages, and strategies. Jack, I believe America has been given one more opportunity to turn the direction of this nation around. Our collective efforts paid off in the congressional elections of 2010 as a wave of pro-life, pro-family, and pro-American candidates were elected to the 112th Congress. Additionally, hundreds of new conservative voices were elected to state legislatures and other influential positions. Even the nation’s judiciary was directly affected. For instance, in Iowa, activist judges promoting same-sex “marriage” were thrown out…the first time judges were removed in that state’s history! Our work has sent shock waves throughout the political world and has given many hope that we CAN make significant changes to restore America. Our nation’s rapid slide to socialism has been slowed for a while. But the battle is far from over! The time to restore America is NOW! That’s why I am asking you to take a few minutes and complete our “2012 State of the Nation Issues Survey.” WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF THE STATE OF THE NATION? Our great President, Ronald Reagan, once famously (and I believe prophetically) stated: “You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.” Today, you and I must embrace that rendezvous and do everything we can to preserve this great nation. I plan to be an “informed” voter in 2012 and will utilize third-party resources in making my decisions. Job creation and the economy are among my primary concerns in the 2012 elections. Congress should begin the enactment of a Balanced Budget Amendment. We must immediately reduce the massive federal spending of the Obama Administration. Obama’s socialized health care, causing increased costs and reduced benefits, must be repealed. Abortion should be banned in the United States. No taxpayer monies should ever be used to fund abortions. Taxpayer money for Planned Parenthood should be defunded by Congress. Recent activist federal court decisions attempt to create public policy instead of interpreting the law as the Constitution allows. Congress should impeach activist federal judges who reverse the will of voters. Attorney General Eric Holder should be impeached. America should never incorporate Sharia (Islamic legal code) into our legal and economic systems, as is being aggressively promoted by the U.S. Muslim community. We should oppose President Obama’s decision to give foreign Islamic terrorists the same constitutional rights as Americans and trying them in civilian courts. Displays of the Ten Commandments should be allowed in our public schools and courthouses. We should preserve “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance and “in God we Trust” as our national motto. Public schools should be required to teach the truth about America’s religious heritage. Parents should be allowed to freely use vouchers for their choice of public or private schools for their children. We should oppose President Obama’s plan to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act(DOMA), which protects traditional marriage. We should oppose special legal rights, including legalized “marriage,” for homosexuals. Public schools should not be allowed to teach the pro-homosexual agenda. Hate Crimes legislation and homosexual hiring quotas punish Americans for their sincere opposition to the pro-homosexual lifestyle. Homosexuals should not be allowed to serve openly in our armed forces. We should increase monitoring of America’s borders to stop terrorists and illegal aliens from entering the country. America should continue its strong support of the nation of Israel. Lower personal and business taxes will help spur job growth in America. We should increase oil drilling in Alaska and off our coasts, build more oil refineries, and use safe nuclear power to reduce dependence on foreign oil. The EPA and other United States Government agencies have overstepped their boundaries and are killing jobs and the economy.
