Tax policy should be serious business carried out by serious politicians using real facts and figures. This is why we have the Library of Congress and the Congressional Budget Office, among other expert institutions.
How can we take Congress seriously when the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, makes patently inaccurate, outrageous and bizarre claims on an important tax-policy issue without any heads being turned? I guess this is what we have come to expect of Congress. No wonder citizens with favorable opinions of Congress are as rare as unicorns, to borrow a phrase.
That is because Harry Reid thinks ALL Amercans are stupid!

While there are varying degrees of intelligence in America, it does not take much to understand what is right for our country. The problem we face is that too many people take a passive approach to politics; these become prey for the democrats who target people that leave their thinking up to the government. Our people’s mindset has been destroyed by the democrats and their liberal media and celebrity outlets pushing us to think that many of us are to blame for those that are less fortunate who are somehow victims. I’d love to agree with you. Problem is I can’t. “stupid” may not be the right term. Maybe “ignorant” or “un-caring” would be better. I have to constantly pound the importance of the issues into family member’s heads and they quite often still don’t get it. Until the fire is roasting their personal favorite sacred cow, they don’t bellow or make a peep. That’s the problem. Most people only seem to “care” about those issues that they think impact them. If it doesn’t impact them (as far as they know) then they don’t care. THAT IS THE PROBLEM. Pray for this place; the way it’s going it’s doomed to be judged. (and rightfully so).

I firmly believe that people in nevada did vote for the republican candidate, however, the voting machines, rigged by the *(*( union, changed 9 out of 10 to harry a** reid. Expect the same in 2012 if the unions are allowed access to voting machines, country wide. Local governments must make sure this doesn’t happen.

After having been a resident of the state of Nevada since 1944 I can offer some assurance the vast majority of Nevada residents “did not vote” for Reid. His hometown of Searchlight has a population of approximately 700 yet, when all was said and done during the last election, several thousand votes came out of Searchlight. Perhaps it was the busloads of folks brought in to the small community to vote. The Attorney General’s office would not involve themselves when many “legal” voters complained and requested an investigation be conducted. Sharron Angle, who was ahead in the local polls, didn’t stand a chance from the get go. Clark County, which houses the two largest cities in Nevada, separated but by a sign, and Searchlight, is a sanctuary county … Need I say more? Please don’t place the Reid blame on us, the “legal” citizens of Nevada attempted to remove him from office.
