Sarah Palin criticizes Obama holiday card — and the dog
So much for the holiday spirit. Former Alaska Gov.Sarah Palin is once again targeting the Obama administration, leveling a critical glare at the official White House holiday greeting card for not emphasizing Christmas.
The card, seen above, was created for the Obama family by L.A. artist and designer Mark Matuszak. It features an image of Bo, the Obama familydog, in front of a fireplace in the White House library with a poinsettia and other decorations. The card, which makes no direct mention of Christmas and doesn’t feature a Christmas tree, states: “From our family to yours, may your holidays shine with the light of the season.”
Palin told Fox News that she found it “odd” that the card emphasizes the dog instead of traditions like “family, faith and freedom.” She also said that Americans are able to appreciate “American foundational values illustrated and displayed on Christmas cards and on a Christmas tree.”

Google: Sarah Palin’s Meeting With Henry Kissinger
Hello
The real issue is American Freedom vs Global Socialism. America’s own energy vs
Anti-Americans. America’s own industrial power vs the Chicago Mafia that hates all
that America’s middle class have ever stood for. The national/global media that will
pick the also ran candidate Romney and we will wake up facing the Communism
that wrecked N Korea, Cuba, Russia, etc. and then America!
Its has nothing to do with Obama or his dog, they are both on leashes!
Merry Christmas everyone, I’m praying for a better one in 2012.
REMEMBER WHAT “he” SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will become one of the largest moose-slum countries in the world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Moose-slum (if you use this term literally) would probably be better than what Obama would give us.
So am I Ray . It will be a merrier Christmas in 2012 IF Obama is defeated . He is , I nothing else a skilled and devious politician , and we can no underestimate his prowess . He is by far the most devisive President in my lifetime ( 80 ) , including Nixon ! I think he has already caused irreparable damage to our Country . He governs at home with the iron will of a dictator , and projects an image of temerity and indecision in foreign policy . When he says things like ” we will hold them accountable ” , they smile !
Obama and the senate and house democrat members and support groups are perfectly described in the title of Ann Coulters book “Demonic”!!!! Screwtape is smiling and laughing at the fools that gave us this evil administration and the nationasl socialist party it represents!!
He will not be defeated no matter who runs against him. He is ours forever and the country is lost.
You hit the nail on the head, the “Group” made the choice and their motives and purposes are diametrically opposed to freedom and absolute liberty. The “handlers” are in charge!!!!!!
Great opinion piece, all Americans who want Constitutional freedoms must unite against militant progressivism. Our lying , in the tank media, is dominated by the deranged ideology of socialism and their propaganda would like for us to believe our Constitution and traditional freedoms are dead, but do not fall for it, I still believe the majority of Americans reject big authoritarian government , and in the end people like obama will find that out. Even though I am agnostic, as long as I’m alive, the left will never discredit God, Christmas, and American exceptionalism, because I, and the loyal Americans I’ve raised cannot be made shut-up!
Mike , speaking of the ” in the tank media ” , they really are condescending to the folks . They think that they can hide their bias by being subtle ! Earlier this week on the evening news, Scott Pelly, speaking of the House rejecting the Senate Bill on the extension of the tax holiday , that ” TWO MILLION Americans ” will see an increase in their taxes ! That was a flat-out lie , and Pelly knew it . The number is 160 million , and it has been reported more times than I can count ! Just one example .
That’s another thing about the commiecrat media that drives me nuts; how they blithely pull numbers out of thin air without quoting any sources, and expect us to accept it all without questioning any of it.
Of course it’s a sham. Obama is a Muslim! He is also a communist progressive who hates this country and everything it was based on.
GOOLE THE FRUD N CHIEF PARTYING WITH BILL AYERS
All Bushes fault
Do you really mean it is Bushes fault that Obama got into office or that the dog is the main focal point of His Holiday card? This shows the inability of Obama, he should have seen what the country is like while he was campaigning and never made the promises he made, he is not a leader nor is he a follower of whom he should follow. I voted for him, but after reading and researching what he has done, I would never vote for him again. Look at the staff members he had and they have jumped ship and how about Holder? What about all the trips and the money his family has cost us? What happened to the inner city guy who was going to take care of the poor? Bush was not the brightest light bulb but his performance was way above this hypocrite.
God bless you , Pat . You are one who puts Country above politics and I for one am grateful for honest folks like you . I can not see how any honest , objective citizen , can look at Obama’s record , or his conduct , and vote for him twice . I can understand why people voted for him in 2008 , with Bush’s weaknesses and war-fatigue in play , but he has engaged in a disgusting display of partisan politics and class warfare that has damaged the country and turned us against one another . I hope it ends soon ! Please God !
Bushes light was far brighter. This Turkey will never make a second round. He is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
My idiom of the day, blame it on Bush.
I agree that meeting with Kissinger was the pits…its as though she knew that “no brain McCain” was throwing the presidential election. She took the dive too.
I thought the card had a very good Artistic output to it. Besides, do you really believe that a person who doesn’t believe in Jesus is going to display a Christian view point at any time.
Let’s not forget since Obama took office his favorite Holiday has always been Romadom(don’t know how to spell it I’m not Muslim, and don’t read their literature). Also, the most dangerous move that President Obama made slipped through the attention span of most Americans. It was when he mad America a member of the OIC in 2009, claiming it was for the cause of helping those with AIDS in foreign countries. The OIC could care less about people with AIDS their only agenda is making it illegal internationally to openly speak of any religion other than the Muslim religion.
Merry Christmas everybody.
Aren’t there more important things to be concerned with than this generic holiday card? We know what to expect from this non-Christian family, let’s get back to the important things like Fast and Furious, Solyndra and the weekly scandal in this administration…
You are right Pat, take it for what is worth, Merry Christmas to you
more like daily scandal Pat,
Ya had to put non-Christian in there so as to deflate your comment!
The TRUTH hurts, doesn’t it/
The commie in the white house says he’s a Christan……….
“You shall know them by their fruit.” If I were OJUDAS I’d be praying for a crop failure.
More a communist and a homosexual
he also said i quote) its true no one has questioned my muslim faith ) unquote
Well, you know how it goes……the Presidents’ Christmas cards are considered collector items.
This one most will “round file”. This country was founded as a Christain country and the majority are Christian. Those who aren’t need to be tolerant and get a life. When the muslim countries start to treat christains and other religions equally, come see me, we will talk then.
I and my family wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
true, but,it will never happen in your lifetime.Merry Christmas,Happy New Year and GOD BLESS AMERICA
Merry Christmas to all and fuk allah, mohamed and ovomit.
The Country was never founded as a Christian Country – the first three presidents were Deists as most of the Founders were. That was the Era of Enlightenment and they were not only against organized religion but for sure Adams and Jefferson, who were diametrically, politically. socially and regionally were not Christians. Benjamin Franklin was certainly a Deist and stated it often:
Benjamin Franklin
“. . . Some books against Deism fell into my hands. . . It happened that they wrought an effect on my quite contrary to what was intended by them; for the arguments of the Deists, which were quoted to be refuted, appeared to me much stronger than the refutations; in short, I soon became a thorough Deist.”
.
“I cannot conceive otherwise than that He, the Infinite Father, expects or requires no worship or praise from us, but that He is even infinitely above it.”
– “Articles of Belief and Acts of Religion”, 1728
.
“I wish it (Christianity) were more productive of good works … I mean real good works … not holy-day keeping, sermon-hearing … or making long prayers, filled with flatteries and compliments despised by wise men, and much less capable of pleasing the Deity.” – Works, Vol. VII, p. 75
.
“If we look back into history for the character of the present sects in Christianity, we shall find few that have not in their turns been persecutors, and complainers of persecution. The primitive Christians thought persecution extremely wrong in the Pagans, but practiced it on one another. The first Protestants of the Church of England blamed persecution in the Romish Church, but practiced it upon the Puritans. They found it wrong in Bishops, but fell into the practice themselves both here (England) and in New England.”
.
“Lighthouses are more helpful than churches.” -in Poor Richard’s Almanac
One of the many attacks on our country from the Religious Right is the claim that our country is a Christian Nation…not just that the majority of people are Christians, but that the country itself was founded by Christians, for Christians. However, a little research into American history will show that this statement is a lie. Those people who spread this lie are known as Christian Revisionists. They are attempting to rewrite history, in much the same way as holocaust deniers are. The men responsible for building the foundation of the United States were men of The Enlightenment, not men of Christianity. They were Deists who did not believe the bible was true. They were Freethinkers who relied on their reason, not their faith.
If the U.S. was founded on the Christian religion, the Constitution would clearly say so–but it does not. Nowhere does the Constitution say: “The United States is a Christian Nation”, or anything even close to that. In fact, the words “Jesus Christ, Christianity, Bible, Creator, Divine, and God” are never mentioned in the Constitution– not even once. Nowhere in the Constitution is religion mentioned, except in exclusionary terms. When the Founders wrote the nation’s Constitution, they specified that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.” (Article 6, section 3) This provision was radical in its day– giving equal citizenship to believers and non-believers alike. They wanted to ensure that no religion could make the claim of being the official, national religion, such as England had.
The Declaration of Independence gives us important insight into the opinions of the Founding Fathers. Thomas Jefferson wrote that the power of the government is derived from the governed. Up until that time, it was claimed that kings ruled nations by the authority of God. The Declaration was a radical departure from the idea that the power to rule over other people comes from god. It was a letter from the Colonies to the English King, stating their intentions to seperate themselves. The Declaration is not a governing document. It mentions “Nature’s God” and “Divine Providence”– but as you will soon see, that’s the language of Deism, not Christianity.
The 1796 Treaty with Tripoli states that the United States was “not in any sense founded on the Christian religion” . This was not an idle statement meant to satisfy Muslims– they believed it and meant it. This treaty was written under the presidency of George Washington and signed under the presidency of John Adams.
None of the Founding Fathers were atheists. Most of the Founders were Deists, which is to say they thought the universe had a creator, but that he does not concern himself with the daily lives of humans, and does not directly communicate with humans, either by revelation or by sacred books. They spoke often of God, (Nature’s God or the God of Nature), but this was not the God of the bible. They did not deny that there was a person called Jesus, and praised him for his benevolent teachings, but they flatly denied his divinity. Some people speculate that if Charles Darwin had lived a century earlier, the Founding Fathers would have had a basis for accepting naturalistic origins of life, and they would have been atheists. We’ll never know; but by reading their own writings, it’s clear that most of them were opposed to the bible, and the teachings of Christianity in particular.
Yes, there were Christian men among the Founders. Just as Congress removed Thomas Jefferson’s words that condemned the practice of slavery in the colonies, they also altered his wording regarding equal rights. His original wording is here in blue italics: “All men are created equal and independent. From that equal creation they derive rights inherent and inalienable.” Congress changed that phrase, increasing its religious overtones: “All men are created equal. They are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights.” But we are not governed by the Declaration of Independence– it is a historical document, not a constitutional one.
Who were the Founding Fathers? American historian Richard B. Morris, in his 1973 book Seven Who Shaped Our Destiny: The Founding Fathers as Revolutionaries, identified the following seven figures as the “key” Founding Fathers: John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, James Madison and George Washington.
Of these, only John Jay can be considered an orthodox Christian. As Congress’s Secretary for Foreign Affairs, he argued (unsuccessfully) for a prohibition forbidding Catholics from holding office. On October 12, 1816, Jay wrote, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest, of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.” It is John Jay that the modern Christians have in mind when they talk about the Founding Fathers. Luckily for the rest of us, and all freedom-loving Americans, he was not in the majority.
“As I understand the Christian religion, it was, and is, a revelation. But how has it happened that millions of fables, tales, legends, have been blended with both Jewish and Christian revelation that have made them the most bloody religion that ever existed?” -letter to F.A. Van der Kamp, Dec. 27, 1816
.
“I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved– the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!”
-letter to Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson did not believe in the Trinity, and he said so:
“The hocus-pocus phantasm of a God like another Cerberus, with one body and three heads, had its birth and growth in the blood of thousands and thousands of martyrs.” — Letter to James Smith, December 8, 1822
Thomas Jefferson did not believe in the virgin birth of Jesus, and he said so:
“And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter. But we may hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with all this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this the most venerated reformer of human errors.” — Jefferson’s letter to John Adams, April 11 1823
Jefferson was a rationalist. He believed that Jesus was a pure and ethical teacher of morals. To that end, Jefferson took a razor to the New Testament and removed passages he thought to have been inserted by the authors of the gospels (whom he called the “commentators”), and he pasted what remained together as “TheJefferson Bible”. With his razor blade, he removed every verse dealing with the virgin birth, miracles, resurrection, claims of Jesus’ divinity and other puerile superstition, thus leaving us with a very much shorter book. In 1904, the Jefferson Bible was printed by order of Congress, and for many years was presented to all newly elected members of that body.
“No one sees with greater pleasure than myself the progress of reason in its advances towards rational Christianity. When we shall have done away the incomprehensible jargon of the Trinitarian arithmetic, that three are one, and one is three; when we shall have knocked down the artificial scaffolding, raised to mask from view the simple structure of Jesus; when, in short, we shall have unlearned everything which has been taught since His day, and get back to the pure and simple doctrines He inculcated, we shall then be truly and worthily His disciples; and my opinion is that if nothing had ever been added to what flowed purely from His lips, the whole world would at this day have been Christian. I know that the case you cite, of Dr. Drake, has been a common one. The religion-builders have so distorted and deformed the doctrines of Jesus, so muffled them in mysticisms, fancies and falsehoods, have caricatured them into forms so monstrous and inconceivable, as to shock reasonable thinkers, to revolt them against the whole, and drive them rashly to pronounce its Founder an imposter. Had there never been a commentator, there never would have been an infidel.” — Jefferson’s Letter to Timothy Pickering, 21 Feb 1821
“The doctrines of Jesus are simple, and tend all to the happiness of man.
1. That there is one only God, and he all perfect.
2. That there is a future state of rewards and punishments.
3. That to love God with all thy heart and thy neighbor as thyself, is the sum of religion.
Thomas Jefferson did not believe that Jesus was God, and he said so:
“The office of reformer of the superstitions of a nation is ever dangerous. Jesus had to walk on the perilous confines of reason and religion; and a step to right or left might place Him within the grasp of the priests of the superstition, a bloodthirsty race, as cruel and remorseless as the Being whom they represented as the family God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, and the local God of Israel. They were constantly laying snares, too, to entangle Him in the web of the law. He was justifiable, therefore, in avoiding these by evasions, by sophisms, by misconstructions and misapplications of scraps of the prophets, and in defending Himself with these their own weapons, as sufficient, ad homines, at least. That Jesus did not mean to impose Himself on mankind as the Son of God, physically speaking, I have been convinced by the writings of men more learned than myself in the lore.” — Thomas Jefferson’s letter to William Short, August 4, 1820
To claim that Jefferson was a Christian is outright dishonest. He was a MATERIALIST, and he said so:
“But while this syllabus is meant to place the character of Jesus in its true light, as no imposter himself, but a great reformer of the Hebrew code of religion, it is not to be understood that I am with him in all his doctrines. I am a materialist; he takes the side of spiritualism; he preaches the efficacy of repentance towards forgiveness of sin; I require a counterpoise of good works to redeem it.” — letter to William Short, April 13, 1820; Definition of a Materialist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Materialism
George Washington
The father of this country was very private about his beliefs, but it is widely considered that he was a Deist like his colleagues. He was a Freemason.
Historian Barry Schwartz writes: “George Washington’s practice of Christianity was limited and superficial because he was not himself a Christian… He repeatedly declined the church’s sacraments. Never did he take communion, and when his wife, Martha, did, he waited for her outside the sanctuary… Even on his deathbed, Washington asked for no ritual, uttered no prayer to Christ, and expressed no wish to be attended by His representative.” [New York Press, 1987, pp. 174-175]
Paul F. Boller states in is anthology on Washington: “There is no mention of Jesus Christ anywhere in his extensive correspondence.” [Dallas: Southern Methodist University Press, 1963, pp. 14-15]
.
“Religious controversies are always productive of more acrimony and irreconcilable hatreds than those which spring from any other cause. Of all the animosities which have existed among mankind, those which are caused by the difference of sentiments in religion appear to be the most inveterate and distressing, and ought most to be depreciated. I was in hopes that the enlightened and liberal policy, which has marked the present age, would at least have reconciled Christians of every denomination so far that we should never again see the religious disputes carried to such a pitch as to endanger the peace of society.”
– letter to Edward Newenham, 1792
I DON’T WANT A DAMN THING THIS ILLEGAL HAS
this Texan agrees with you completely…except I would add: I want him tried for treason to the American people by Tea Party Patriots and hung by his neck
Yes, a Christmas card from this President may have some value to it if you’re bill ayers.
And after all, what can we expect from a Muslim BOZO president???
A Kenyan imposter dictator! (Deamon) Merry Christmas to all & GOD BLESS!
That’s terribly bright- how long did you dwell on that stupidity? Any other “valid” criticisms?
Anything considered Collectable from obamas “selection” not election -won’t be worth a dime!!!
I agree with you. And I believe we should appoint an independent prosecutor to investigate the various scandals, including the one in New Jersey where an ex-governor doesn’t know what he’s done with a BILLION dollars. Best always, John R. Lancellotti
Latest word has it that some of the money has been traced to one of the really big Wall Street Investment houses. 12 million has been traced to JP Morgan. That’s chump change though since Corzine can’t account for 1.2 BILLION in client funds. Wonder if any of it went to Obama’s re-election campaign with the half million that Corzine bundled for that purpose. ALL articles say Corzine hasn’t been accused of any “wrongdoing”….legalese for “we can’t prove any embezzlement”!
Dingbat…It’s not so much as “can’t”, but “WON’T”
Telling it like it is Pat. Besides, our Muslim President had the card made for show. Muslims don’t celebrate Christmas and he sure as hell thinks more of his dog than he does the American. If you read excerpts from a book he supposedly wrote, Dreams of My Father, he tells you how much he hates his mother’s people. That would be us White folk because you see, his mother was a radical White whore. Mike Tanco
Mike, I thought Muslims could not have dogs, the were considered dirty, unclean. Our dear leader is not even a good muslim.
as in michelle obama college theme paper where she states she hates whiteys
Keep on picking on his dog- just like your ancestors picked on FDR’s little dog Fala. See what happened to those dopes. You folks are desperate, but words of wisdom from Sarah Palin, that’s a laugh. Where’s her son-in-law these days? Out playing hockey, drinking, whoring around? She should have worried more about her on family and her illegitimate grandchild then the president’s dog!
The card is a symbol of what they stand for . It appears it is the right to own a dog. Will we be able to own a dog in 8 years or will we be eating them like in North Korea ?
@ Pat—Every affront to America and every unconstitutional order or overtly illegal act performed by the likes of obama, holder, and his underlings should be kept in the light. For covering up offenses and 100% shielding obama, I nominate the “leftist” media as enemies of freedom, right up there with traitors like Jane Fonda.
