Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said Tuesday that President Obama “absolutely” should use his executive power to continue the unemployment benefits and payroll tax cut extension and said she hoped to discuss the option with the White House later in the day.

“It is extraordinary, don’t get me wrong. But I’m feeling the pain of the constituents I left [at] home,” Jackson Lee said, speaking on the progressive Ed Schultz’s radio show. “I consider this a crisis. I consider leaving Americans without unemployment insurance for January and February a crime. I consider not extending the payroll tax cut … a crime.”

Jackson Lee slammed the move by House Republicans to call for a House-Senate conference as a “ridiculous procedural calamity.”
House Republicans called for a vote on the motion Tuesday, which passed without any Democrat votes.

“This is what got thrown in our face, not even the right to regular order,” Jackson Lee said, blasting House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) for not bringing to a House vote a Senate-passed bill that would have extended the payroll tax cut for two months.

Why do I say this?
because WHEN there is a Republican President in 2013, and he uses executive powers to stop affirmative action, lawsuits on Voting ID, prosecuting the Black Panthers for voter intimidation, etc, Jackson will be one of the 1st Democrat idiots to holler "dat ain't rite!". And plenty of the others will be whining right behind her.

The most frightening part of this statement is that it proves that the Congresswoman has no understanding of the system of government in which she works. There is no "executive power" to write laws. This type of ignorance is a dangerous thing coming from a federal official. Perhaps she was speaking out of anger because she is pissed about missing Christmas. :-)

What I find to be most interesting, is how quickly Ms. Lee is willing to strap back on the bonds of slavery, for her posterity to endure. Obviously, she thinks that the eventual loss of freedom is a small price to pay, so long as it's a person of color who initiates the severitude. History will not be kind, nor should it be, to Ms. Lee. Future generations will look upon her, and those who are joined to her, as a pernicious blot on the whole of american society.

This is the same Congresswoman who wanted NASA (in her district) to send the rovers on Mars over to take a picture of the US flag planted by the Astronants there in 1969.

If she had a clue about her Constitutional responsibilities as a member of Congress, she would know the President cannot use his power on any tax or budget increase matter. That responsibility rests with the House of Representitives.

SJL is not only an embarrassment to her gender, race, or Texas, but to all Americans.

But she is typical of the members of the CBC, she just reminds her voters every two years of all the welfare money she has gotten them, even if she doesn't know how she got the money into the budget.
