Americans buy record numbers of guns going in to new year…

According to the FBI, over 1.5 million background checks on customers were requested by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in December. Nearly 500,000 of those were in the six days before Christmas.
It was the highest number ever in a single month, surpassing the previous record set in November.
On Dec 23 alone there were 102,222 background checks, making it the second busiest single day for buying guns in history.
The actual number of guns bought may have been even higher if individual customers took home more than one each.
Explanations for America’s surge in gun buying include that it is a response to the stalled economy with people fearing crime waves. Another theory is that buyers are rushing to gun shops because they believe tighter firearms laws will be introduced in the future.

Through history, the first front of home protection is through the owner. With the breakdown of trust in law enforcement due to the laws that “handcuff” officers in their duties, it has become more important than ever to have a life saving edge over criminals. Which is most likely to prevent rape; a condom, a cell phone, or a handgun in a trained hand? With the government passing more laws that allow agents to enter homes without warrants or cause, too many people are subject to imposter break-ins or improper entry by mistake. Either could be deadly to homeowners and their families.
Or, agents may die if they are careless and enter the wrong house. Therefore, agents better listen up and realize you are not the law if you illegally enter the wrong house. You become an intruder.

It is important for American Citizens without Felonies in their background to purchase the firearms of their choice! There are just too many felons walking the streets in today’s world, to be safe. I still say, just the fact that these bad guys are aware of a persons right to carry a concealed gun is a large deterrent to their actions. The States with Concealed Carry Laws, are safer States. All the gun control activists are lying when they say it is the Wild West when Citizens are aloud to carry guns, it just has not been proven, check the stats on file with the FBI.

People are doing what they have to do because they know as unemployement goes up which it is going to in order for people to survive they are going to resort to crime instead of doing a lower paying job or work two to three jobs to stay afloat. Knowing this and the fact you have an anti-gun cartel running the USA in the whitehouse they are preparing for what may come and that’s the real battle to retain the second amendment and the constitution. The bootomline is if we had any leaders with balls they be on national TV telling everyone who was qualified that they chould be obtaining their CCW and pass a national concealed carry law with full 50state reciprocity and in the same breath telling the criminal entity, if they chose to resort to crime, they have chosen death. It’s just all so very simple and there’s no real mistery here as to why guns sales are going up and will continue to go up.

My wife and I are both trained, carry concealed and visit the range at least twice a month to maintain our skill. My Texas state representative is a retired Marine LtCol. trying to get “open Carry” passed in Texas.
On September 1, 2007, Governor Rick Perry signed H.B. 1815 into law which allows, without a permit, a Texas citizen to conceal carry a handgun from their residence to their private vehicle, while traveling in their private vehicle and from their vehicle back to their residence. The handgun MUST be totally concealed at all times.
Lends credence to “Don’t mess with Texas”.

Meathead, as you know there is nothing in the second amendment stating that a person has to have a carry permit to carry a weapon. It’s just the states way of getting more money from people. This country and states has you get a permit or license for everything except wipe your ass and obama is trying to change that.
I have kept my 30-30 for 40 years,now glad I have,thie world an Goverment are screwed up,you have no idea, what the hell is gonna happen tomarrow morning.
Everybody talks loud and tough, but will you hand over your gun when they come to confidcate them? Will you say “I have a wife and children?” Are you worried about losing your stuff? Think about it. Talking tough on the internet is different from a real confrontation with the Gestapo. Where will you stand?
With the world going as it is and promoted by the president of the US, one needs to consider protecting themself. The numbers don’t surprise me at all. One must be prepared if things keep going as they are now and if obummer gets the highest office of our land, it won’t surprise me if we have another Civil War.
My whole family got a license to carry a gun. Just in case there is social breakdown for some reason we are protecting ourselves. My parents and my sons all got their license and we have an arsenal of guns. I also have dogs who will notify me if any strangers come up to my house. I don’t trust this administration because obama is a Marxist and a traitor. I don’t trust Iran, either. Better to be prepared.

I respond by asking, do felons not have family’s and property’s that cry out for protection? If a felon has served their time and has not re offended He/She is now a third class citizen?
Let us think about the possibility of an up coming civil war. Do you want a “limp wrist” citizen standing by your side defending your block or a citizen who has been through hell and made it back?
