If you say 'Juan,' you just might be a racist!

According to MSNBC's left-winger-in-chief Chris Matthews, it's not just someone's name but HOW you say it that can be a tip-off that you are a racist. That's right. Because Newt Gingrich addressed moderator Juan Williams as "Juan" (his name) at Monday night's debate, Matthews thinks that makes Gingrich a racist. He thinks that by saying "Juan," it's code that other racist people (like the debate audience) will understand and appreciate. This kind of insane reasoning is exactly why MSNBC has no viewers and why the country is a mess.

The Bank of (Democratic Party) America

Well, isn't this rich? And I do mean rich. President Obama, man of the people, will deliver his presidential nomination acceptance speech at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. -- so that Democratic Party fundraisers can reward big donors with skyboxes and other lavish perks.

How To Fight Money in Politics: Free Will

Have you heard about these terrifying super PACs? According to cable news anchors -- and other trustworthy sources -- they're like political super-bugs, resistant to free will. Needless to say, the principled and high-minded political debates we've grown accustomed to are now over. Our unsullied national conversation is about to be defiled by a carpet-bombing of television ads and radio spots. And clearly, there is no better way to corrode "democracy" than allowing defenseless voters more exposure to free speech.

News, Commentary, Discussions

Santorum goes after everybody
AIKEN, S.C. (AP) - Rick Santorum branded Mitt Romney a liberal, said Newt Gingrich's policy positions have been "all over the place" and laughed that Ron Paul has been running for president "since 1938," looking to capture the GOP presidential nomination even if takes harsh words for fellow Republicans.

We Need Pro-Family Tax Policies
Why did Sen. Rick Santorum suddenly surge to the status of a leading candidate for the Republican nomination for president after having been treated like a not-to-be-taken-seriously contender in the many television debates?

Romney talks felons voting and tax returns
FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) - Seeking to protect his standing here, Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney on Tuesday assailed challenger Rick Santorum's record on voting rights for felons, an issue that resonates strongly with conservatives.

The Emperor Barack
Much like one of his predecessors, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Barack Obama has all but declared war on the United States Supreme Court.

Presidential Nonsense
President Obama, at a Capital Hilton fundraising event, told the crowd, "We can't go back to this brand of you're-on-your-own economics."

Education and Disparity
One of the ways of trying to reduce the vast disparities in economic success is by making higher education more widely available.

Letters from the E-mail Bag

Re: Let's stop using race and ethnicity to divide people (Bobby Eberle -- The Loft)

I am not surprised. Juan Williams worked for NPR for many years. When Juan is without a credible argument, he, like his liberal peers, resorts to the race card to win by default. He is not as bad as Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, but his distressed response is quite predictable.
-- Lawrence Beckman, Houston, TX

Right on Eberle! Having relatives in or descendants from Mexico, or any foreign country, should not imply allegiance to that country. Obedience to the laws of the United States is the primary duty of all citizens. The financial impact of illegal immigration on the states is staggering. Wanting strict enforcement of our laws is not being against any ethnic group. It is just plain American common sense!
