Secret Service Calls For Twitter Snitches

Political dissidents of all stripes have stood up to possible retaliation throughout human history in an attempt to shed light on the actions of corrupt leaders.

Now, it seems, Barack Obama’s Secret Service is calling on citizens to report social media users critical of the current administration.

The agency recently posted multiple messages on Twitter, urging users to let them know about any tweet “that concerns you” and providing contact information with which to do so.

Twitter, a network characterized by brief, 140-character-or-less messages, did not allow the Secret Service to provide examples of tweets that warrant federal intervention. Truth be told, that might have been the point.

Turning citizens on one another is an effective way to stoke an already contentious battle between political ideologies.

I’m sure many on the left would like to use what they consider offensive tweets to further paint conservatives as racist hatemongers. So far, though, Twitter patrol has arrested just one person — a black man — for threatening bodily harm on the president.

It really doesn’t matter where threats originate, and it is certainly the agency’s job to protect the president from potential harm. The majority of violent threats on the social media site, however, seem to be from liberals who vow to riot or even kill Mitt Romney if he is elected.

To these threats, the Secret Service issued a statement indicating they will “follow up if necessary.”

I suppose that should make us all sleep easier.

Where was the call for whistle-blowers when the New Black Panther Party tweeted multiple racist, vicious calls for the murder of whites ahead of the GOP Convention?

I’d love to see the many patriotic Twitter users sick of reading such vile filth take the Secret Service up on its offer, using their list of contact numbers to report threats to Republicans from Obama supporters.

Oh, we’re supposed to put up with all of the Democratic bullies and say nothing at all about all of their threats?

Ah yes, use the old USSR tatics, kids don’t forget to tell your teacher if mommy and daddy same something bad about ole barry……tell on your freinds if they say anything about the Goverment too.

I’m just glad that I don’t waste my time on Twitter or Facebook. What an evil turn of events to silence criticism. What about people who make stuff up on another person……we all know how liberals lie through their teeth……for them it’s as natural as breathing…..so what’s to stop someone from making up outrageous false accusations on someone who they know on either of those social networks.
It also seems that conservatives would be the ones harrassed and threatened rather than any government official. The whole thing is ridiculous and my advice to conservatives is to stay away from those sites and only communicate with like minded people on forums such as this.
