Tweets and life
POSTED BY JUDSON PHILLIPS | MARCH 5, 2012

Andrew Breitbart passed away a few days ago. One of Breitbart’s passions was Twitter. He was constantly on Twitter. One of the things he took pleasure in was the really nasty tweets he would receive from liberals. He would re-tweet the worst of them.

Since his passing, we have seen liberals at their finest. There have been a few of them who have been decent, but many of the tweets from liberals have been gloating over the death of Breitbart.

Here’s just one example: “Andrew Breitbart died? Is it wrong that I’m happier about that than when they got bin Laden and Saddam?” There are a lot more, and a lot worse.

In January 2011, Gabrielle Giffords was shot in Tucson. The left immediately began blaming the shooting on Tea Party members and conservatives. Turns out the alleged shooter was simply a lunatic who was not motivated by politics.

Instead, the left started on their civility kick. They began to lecture conservatives on how we needed to be civil and polite.

Really?

Has anyone looked at what the left has said and done?

Name any major conservative and the left has vilified them. Liberals have commented on how they wanted Clarence Thomas to have a major heart attack. They wanted George Bush and Dick Cheney assassinated. When former Fox News anchor and White House spokesman Tony Snow had a recurrence of the cancer that ultimately killed him, the liberals said the vilest things about a man who was generally considered one of the nicest guys in Washington. There were no calls for civility then.

When Sarah Palin ran for vice president and even afterwards, terrible things were said about her by liberals. There was no call for civility.

And then Andrew Breitbart died.

The liberals who scream for civility either were the first to say terrible things about him or were absolutely silent in the face of other liberals.

Screw civility.

Like tolerance, it is a one-way street for liberals. We are supposed to tolerate any outrageous thing they do, yet they offer no tolerance for conservative beliefs.

Liberals call a conservative who can advance conservative ideas uncivil, while they say anything they want to about conservatives.

Screw civility. Here’s a new word: reciprocity.

If the left wants to have a verbal fight, we aren’t going to apologize for being hit. We will hit back. Breitbart understood this and he never backed down from a fight.

We should never back down either.
