Ballots with Obama’s name facing more legal challenges | Conservative Byte

Ballots with Obama’s name facing more legal challenges | Conservative Byte

Only a week after there was a formal hearing in the state of New Hampshire on a request to remove Barack Obama’s name from the 2012 presidential primary election ballot over allegations of fraud, state officials in Georgia are facing a related request.

Activist Carl Swensson, who runs the RiseUpForAmerica.com website, and has been integral in campaigns to have Obama investigated, told WND that not only has he petitioned the state secretary of state, but some half a dozen others have done the same thing.

In his complaint letter to Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, Swensson wrote that while Obamais listed as the only Democrat candidate, he must be removed “as he does not meet the minimum qualifications as set forth in Article II Section I Clause V concerning the natural born citizen status.”

“Jurisdiction falls squarely on the shoulders of your office as head of the Georgia Board of Elections and it is your sworn duty as a man of honor and public servant to protect and defend the Constitution,” he wrote. “The very U.S. Constitution that is now under attack and assault by the DNC for having failed in their responsibility to submit an eligible candidate for inclusion on our ballot.”

Wow... There really IS someone worse than Jimmy Carter

By Bobby Eberle

When asked to choose the worst president in the history of America, a familiar name comes to mind. Even Democrats will remember the years of gas lines, energy shortages, inflation, unemployment, and hostages. I'm talking about the 39th president of the United States: Jimmy Carter. But now, a new report by Gallup reveals that BarackObama has journeyed into Carter-like territory. In the history of their polling, no one has had a lower approval rating at this point in a presidential term than Obama.

As noted in the U.S. News blog Washington Whispers, "President Obama's slow ride down Gallup's daily presidential job approval index has finally passed below Jimmy Carter, earning Obama the worst job approval rating of any president at this stage of his term in modern political history." Here's how Obama compares with other presidents:

-- Obama: 43 percent.

-- Harry S. Truman: 54 percent.

-- Dwight Eisenhower: 78 percent.

-- Lyndon B. Johnson: 44 percent.

-- Richard M. Nixon: 50 percent.

-- Ronald Reagan: 54 percent.

-- George H.W. Bush: 52 percent.

-- Bill Clinton: 51 percent.

-- George W. Bush: 55 percent.

So how do things stand for our current president? According to a new Rasmussen Reports poll, confidence in short-term economic growth remains at a record low.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of U.S. adults shows that just 27% believe the economy will be stronger in one year, showing no change from September and the lowest finding in regular tracking since early 2009. Prior to September, the number of adults expecting a stronger economy in a year's time ranged from 31% to 45%.

Forty-eight percent (48%) expect the U.S. economy to be weaker a year from now, down slightly from September's high of 52%. This finding remained in the 30s throughout 2009 and rose to the low 40s for much of 2010. Just 16% expect the economy to be about the same in a year's time, while 10% more aren't sure.

Remember the slogan "It's the economy, stupid!"? Well... it IS the economy. And Obama has failed at it. In another Rasmussen Reports poll, 84% of likely voters "regard economic issues as Very Important."

The number of voters who feel this way about the economy has remained fairly consistent since January 2008. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Eighty percent (80%) say it's not a good time to sell a home in their area. That's a new high. This comes on top of data showing that only 16% of homeowners believe the value of their home will go up this year. Additionally, barely more than half believe their home is worth more than their mortgage.

As another sign of how people view the job Obama is doing, a generic Republican presidential candidate leads Obama in the race for the White House -- 48% to 42%.

There is a lot of time between now and Election Day, but the economy is going no where fast. The key will be if voters actually think about what's going on or simply react to some "hope and change" sound bite. Obama certainly does not deserve a second term. But will he get it?

Stop Obama's Big Union Onslaught

What does it take to bring an airline to its knees? Uncompetitive union-negotiated labor contracts and a fundamental unwillingness to recognize that in a down economy, unions have a hard time raising wages without destroying jobs.

That was a lesson that unions refused to learn in the case of American Airlines, which yesterday announced that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, making it the last large U.S. full-fare airline to seek court protection from creditors. American was forced to take that action when the airline pilots union refused to budge on its demands for massive signing bonuses and wage increases. The airline's competitors are flying high in profits after restructuring union contracts in their own bankruptcy proceedings.

Unions also didn't learn any lessons after taxpayers bailed out General Motors and Chrysler, and then-White House "auto-czar" Ron Bloom gave the UAW preferential treatment in the restructuring process despite their contracts being largely at fault.

And, this is a lesson that still has not penetrated the walls of the Obama White House. The President's appointees to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) want businesses to be unionized at all costs, even if it means harming both workers and the economy. They're trying to make it happen by ramming through measures that would help expand unionization in America.

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the Workplace Democracy and Fairness Act, introduced by Committee on Education and the Workforce Chairman John Kline (R-MN). The bill protects the right of workers to decide whether or not to unionize. That's a right that the NLRB would like to drastically weaken.

One tack the Obama NLRB is taking is implementing "snap elections" which Heritage labor expert James Sherk saysare designed to prevent employees from making an informed choice about unionizing.

The policy shortens the election period from six weeks to as little as 10 days, depriving companies of their ability to explain to workers the darker side of unionization, including strike histories, dues increases, and union corruption. Meanwhile, union leaders would have months to try to sell workers on their side of the story through rose-colored glasses.

The NLRB is set to vote on the new rule today, but it's possible that their efforts could be forestalled if the lone Republican on the board resigns or withholds participation in the vote, depriving the NLRB of the quorum it needs to issue regulations.

Their earlier gambit -- known as "micro unions" -- redefines who gets to vote on unionizing a particular workplace. Instead of workers with a shared "community of interest" forming a single bargaining unit and voting together on unionizing (think cashiers, shelf-stockers, and greeters at a grocery store), now the Obama NLRB has allowed unions to form cherry-picked bargaining units of their supporters. Sherk explainshow the new rule would impact workers:
If most workers at a store oppose unionizing, but a union has majority support among the cashiers, it can now form a union of just the cashiers. The shelf-stockers and greeters would not get a vote.

Unionizing brings risks to the entire workplace. The Obama NLRB has allowed unions to selectively disenfranchise the workers who do not want to take that risk.

All of this is occurring despite the fact that only one in 10 non-union workers say they want to unionize. What's more, unionized companies invest less, are less competitive, and create fewer jobs than non-union companies. Given these facts, it's no surprise that union membership has shrunk to just 7 percent in the private sector. Likewise, though, it's not surprising that the Obama NLRB is digging in and trying to foist unionization on all companies while it still can.

Kline's bill attempts to prevent that from happening by guaranteeing that union elections are not held until workers have at least 35 days to hear from both sides, ensuring that employers have at least 14 days to find legal counsel before any legal proceedings begin, preventing unions from cherry-picking which workers can vote, and protecting privacy by letting workers decide which contact information to release to union organizers.

Kline says, "It's very clear to me that we're seeing the rights of employers and employees under attack." And he's right. Workers have a right to organize unions, but they should have a right not to organize them as well. Reforms like the ones Kline is proposing help protect that right.

Senate Defies Obama Veto Threat in Terrorist Custody Vote

Defying a veto threat from President Obama, the Senate voted Tuesday to preserve language that would give the U.S. military a crack at al Qaeda operatives captured in the U.S., even if they are American citizens.

Led by Sen. Carl Levin, the Michigan Democrat who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, senators voted 61-37 to preserve the language that gives the military custody of al Qaeda suspects, rather than turning them over to law enforcement officials.

“We are at war with al Qaeda and people determined to be part of al Qaeda should be treated as people who are at war with us,” Mr. Levinsaid.

He and Arizona Sen. John McCain, the ranking Republican on his committee, had struck a deal earlier this month on giving the military priority custody, while allowing the administration to waive that and give civilian authorities priority if it deems the waiver in the interests of national security.

Dear Patriot,

The liberals and labor unions are at it again. They are trying to stop the progress that has been made in reforming the bankrupt postal service. Because TheTeaParty.netof your support in the past few months, and the thousands of petitions we sent in your name, Congress was forced to examine the failing United States Post Office and its $6 billion in annual deficits they continue to dump on the US taxpayer. After we reached out to you, the American patriots who stand for limited government, free markets and personal responsibility, Congress was flooded with over 200,000 of our Postal Reform Act petitions, where you demanded that the Post Office operate like any other business and be accountable for any losses they incur in running that business. That act of “We The People” is what brought this relatively unknown bill to the forefront and forced politicians in both parties to sit down and discuss real reforms to eliminate the pork and deficits they operate under year after year.

We knew we were succeeding when the postal worker labor union flooded our offices with hundreds and hundreds of pieces of junk mail addressed to the tea party, protesting “We The People” and our efforts just to get the Post Office to run like any other business: without $6 billion in losses passed on to the taxpayer.

Well the liberals in Congress in both parties must think that “We The People” have forgotten about this important bill, because they are trying to rewrite these reforms to make them impotent on arrival.

We need hundreds of thousands of patriots more than ever to flood Congress with letters from our state-of-the-art petition system that will deliver your voice directly to the decision makers on Capitol Hill. Please go to the Postal Reform Act petition page immediately, and please ask all your family and friends to go to this page and sign the petition as well. We have sent over 2.5 million petitions thus far directly to your Congressmen and Senators and, believe us, they are hearing you and it is making a huge impact! Again, go to the petition page now and ask all your family and friends to do so as well and “We The People” will win this first major battle in getting our elected representatives to listen to us and cut wasteful spending.

We thank you as always for your support!

Thank you,

PresidentObama's "stimulus" legislation helped to fund an education initiative associated withWeather UndergroundterroristsBill AyersandBernardine Dohrn, according to a recently released book.

"Red Army: The Radical Network that must be defeated to save America"contains new information about Secretary of Education Arne Duncan's own radical ties while revealing how stimulus funds also went to aschoolfounded by the mother of top White House adviserValerie Jarrett.

"Red Army" authorsAaron Kleinand Brenda J. Elliott dedicate two chapters to investigatingObama's education policies.

In one revelation, the book details how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, or ARRA, provided $650 million to theInvestingin Innovation Fund, or i3, as it is called. That year, Duncan announced his agency was accepting applications for i3 grants from educational nonprofits, individual school districts or groups of districts.

The winning i3 grantees included theErikson Institutein Chicago, which requested just shy of $5 million for its project, "Achieving High Standards for Pre-K-Grade 3 Mathematics: A Whole Teacher Approach toProfessionalDevelopment."

"Red Army: The Radical Network that must be defeated to save America" exposes the extremists behind Occupy Wall Street along with the radical socialist network that seized political power in Washington over decades, shaped Obama's presidential agenda and threatens the very future of the U.S.

One of the three faculty founders, and president of the institute from 1994 to 2001, is Barbara Taylor Bowman, the Irving B. Harris Professor of Child Development. Bowman is the mother ofValerie Jarrett.

(Storycontinues below)

In December 2009, Duncan honored Bowman at a luncheon. Bowman served as Duncan's consultant on early learning for the first six months after he was named secretary of education.

Others inObama's orbit associated with theErikson Instituteinclude one of its former trustees and members of the executive committee – the late Thomas Ayers, father ofBill Ayers. Dohrn,Bill Ayers' wife, also served on the Erikson board.

In his 1998 book "A Kind and JustParent: The Children of Juvenile Court," Ayers calls Bowman a "neighbor and a friend."

Obamahad earlier connections to Erikson, Klein and Elliot found. TheErikson Institutewas among the first 35 school partnerships awarded funds in December 1995 by theChicago Annenberg Challenge. Ayers was a founder of the Challenge;Obamawas hired in 1995 as the group's first chairman.

Obamaand Ayers worked on education together since at least 1988.

That year, in response to a Chicago summit that documented the poor quality of education in the city, Chicago United, a group founded by Ayers' father, formed a community advocacy coalition called the Alliance for Better Chicago Schools, or ABC. Thomas Ayers was the chairman and CEO of Commonwealth Edison.

When he created his ABCs Coalition in June 1988, Thomas Ayers includedObamain the coalition, Klein and Elliott found.Obamaat the time was director and lead organizer of the Developing Communities Project, or DCP, an institutionally based community organization onChicago'sFar South Side.Obama's first job in Chicago was his DCP position.

The contact for the ABCs Coalition, on whichObamaserved, was none other thanBill Ayershimself, who at the time was atthe Universityof Illinois at Chicago.

More Ayers ties

"Red Army" further documents howObama's DCP included on its boardBill Ayers' brother, John Ayers, also a key player in Chicago's school reform movement. John Ayers is now vice president and treasurer of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

Archived papers from former Chicago mayor Harold Washington show that not only Ayers but also Rev.Jeremiah Wrightand FatherMichael Pfleger–Obamareligious advisers who were controversial during the 2008 presidential campaign for their inflammatory remarks – were onObama's DCP youth counseling advisory committee.

Obamaaccused of deliberately overloading economy

"Red Army" exposes the radical socialist network that seized political power in Washington over decades, shapedObama's presidential agenda and threatens the very future of the U.S.

The book documents howObamaand progressive Democrats are deliberately overloading the U.S.financialsystem, using socialist designs to remake the economy.

With nearly 1,500 endnotes, it documents how these radicals aim to remake the American financial system with massive government control.
