Voter ID Proponents Launch Counteroffensive Against DOJ

Print Friendly
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is currently blocking implementation of voter ID laws in South Carolina and Texas. It’s the latest battle in the fight for voter integrity at the ballot box and the reason two supporters of voter ID are launching a robust defense the laws.
“We believe this offensive by the Justice Department must be met with a counteroffensive,” said Ken Blackwell, Ohio’s former secretary of state. He is working on the project with Ken Klukowski, a fellow with the American Civil Rights Union and faculty member at Liberty University’s School of Law. The two will launch their project in the coming days.
Blackwell and Klukowski warn that liberals will stop at nothing in their quest to topple voter ID laws. The NAACP has even brought the issue to the U.N. Human Rights Council, an organization whose members include China, Cuba and Russia. Blackwell previously served as U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Human Rights Commission, the organization’s predecessor.

I can promise you that if conservatives were coming to the polls by the bus load and bringing all their dead relatives and try to hit at least 3 polling places before a free lunch, ole' Eric  would be demanding voter ID and a finger dipped in ink

TThe people that these laws purportedly disenfranchised have seem to have id to get their food stamps, unemployment , social securit, Medicaid, Medicare, etc yet they don't have id to vote
It seems the call to allow people that don't have id to vote is thinly veiled attempt to allow illegals to vote.
  • Every body that is legal needs to have an ID.  If you work, drive or get medication or do just about anything else.  What we do need is Tea Party members at every polling are to make sure that voters are not intimidated by Union thugs, Black Panthers, OWS ect.   Sorry to say these good people may have to be armed.

Unfortunately, polling places or on location Ohio, law specifically PROHIBITS C holders form carrying weapons.
  • I have been preaching that we need to install field finger print scanners at all polling locations and take finger prints when you register to vote checking off the names so they can not be bused around by ACORN and it will prevent the dead from rising just to vote and also eliminate Micky Mouse and Donald Duck from voting(Mickey only has gloves for hands and Donald only has feathers)

The people in every state, such as California, that does not have a voter ID requirement, should petition their state government to adopt voter protection legislation PRIOR to the Nov 2012 Presidential race...for  honest elections, where our vote counts.

It's a shame that the NAACP has become such a tool of the far left. They used to be respectable, a long time ago.

You cannot get in a Federal Building without photo ID.

Why would the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE object to a State's Rights to make certain there is no voter fraud?!!!  The only reason I can think of is to facilitate and encourage voter fraud at the polls
  • It's about time we fought back.  Every Republican should be demanding Holder's resignation.

We have voter ID systems here in Indiana, NO legal ID NO voting! Really it's that simple and it has worked for us for years. We don't have dead people voting either? So,.....what's all the fuss about?

If an American citizen wants to vote in a Presidential election, they have 4 years to get the correct papers, get to the Secretary of State office, get a photo ID and register to vote at the same time.
If they cannot do that in 4 years:
    they don't want to vote,
    they aren't legal to vote,
they aren't mentally able to figure it our in which case they probably shouldn't be voting anyway.

Why can't e-verify help with identifying legal American voters?

Being hanged as a traitor is the ONLY acceptable solution for Holder.  Oh, and his handler, too.
  • Obama and his administration will do anything to stop these photo ID laws from passing for he needs to have the ILLEGAL ALIENS, ACORN and voter box stuffer s to get reelected.
WAKE UP AMERICA AND LET US NOT ALLOW OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION TO GET AWAY WITH THIS.
WE NEED TO HAVE PHOTO ID LAWS TO MAKE SURE THAT THOSE THAT DO VOTE, THAT THEIR VOTE DOES COUNT!

I always carry 2 kinds of photo ID. One is my drivers license. The other is my retirement card from the US military. When asked for my ID I always produce both. What is wrong with presenting a state ID? Oh yeah - you have to wait for up to an hour in line with other people who are trying to get one or those who are getting drivers licenses. Wow - what a challenge !

We currently have a similar law in oklahoma and is being embraced !!! We only want legal voters voting....

Mexico, Canada & other civilized nations require Voter I.D to vote! The dimocrats know that only way they can win elections is by voter fraud, stuffing the ballot boxes, dead people voting etc. etc......all things going on in Chicago for many, many years!!! odumbo has brought the corruption, decadence & hypocracy from Chicago to Washington D.C. which was bad before pelosi "drained the swamp" which worked in the reverse. what can you expect from these idiot dimocrats???? Now we have to clean up the mess left by odumbo, reid, pelosi, waxman, boxer,& all the other communists in the dimocrat party!

Approved picture ID would emliminate a large portion of the voter fraud.  I ask you:  How do the poor collect their food stamps and all the other tax payer paid benefits without approved picture ID?  Do they hand it out to anyone who asks?  Or is this all a big lie and they all have IDs anyway?  Does anyone know?
Then the other problem is the states, such as Oregon, which have gone to all mail in/absentee ballots.  Anyone who can get those unfilled out ballots can submmit them at will, even past the checking stage.

HOLA HACE DIAS QUE NO COMUNICABAS,VACACIONES QUE BUENO AHI QUE APROVECHAR CUANDO TODAVIA QUEDAN ENERGIAS.SALUDOS  EMMA

The obama administration does NOT want voter ID because the illegal aliens will not be able to vote!
  • The solution to voter fraud is everyone votes multiple times. Holder and the Dems want to set the chess board and make the rules then let's oblige them in kind.
  • There is no reason not to have a National Voter ID Card .  If those people  are too lazy to obtains one than the give up their right to vote.  Simple as that.  If you don't produce a ID card for almost everything you want or do you just don't get anything.  So be it!

TX and SC should use their own laws in spite of the DOJ. TX is counter-suing the EPA over EPA orders to shut down 16 oil refineries (we already do not have enough refineries or gasoline production) and TX is fighting HHS on health care grants the feds are holding up over clinic funding issues, and Perry says TX will fund its own clinics.
The states have to be ready to fight back. So, the DOJ can send out a few marshals, but the vast majority of activities in any state are beyond the power of all the DOJ, as there are just not many of them. They had fed. marshals in Hoboken in 1948 to oversee local elections but could not stop the Dems. from seizing the ballot boxes and throwing them into the Hudson. (You noticed Dems. did this.) The only way to fight the o and his mobster crew may be nullification--just don't obey them.
The civil rights movement said our consciences are a higher power than state segregation law and our consciences can he a higher power fighting the oppression of the DC regime.
