Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) hopes to stop a major defense spending bill in its tracks now that Democrats have added an amendment that allows them to take away the guns of certain military veterans.

The only reason they want to take guns away from vets is because they have the knowledge of how to fight and use weapons. They are still trying to take guns away from civilians, if they can do both of these they have us at their mercy with no way to defend ourselves

  The ONLY difference with this and current law is the placement on the list. When you go to buy a weapon, there’s a question about mental health. NOW, if you’re put on the list by VA, you’re not buying, but if not on the list, you can always lie and buy. Now, you’re asking if I’m in favor of the bill or not. I’m not. I don’t want ANY obstructions to individuals buying guns except felons and those that have been HOSPITALIZED for mental illness. AND, after 5-years of no hospitalizations, come off the list.

    Actually this is simply incremental gun control. It should be FELONS who are convicted of heinous crimes, not some guy who had a few joints to many. Or someone who didn’t fill out some paper properly. I look at it like this, ANYONE in the government wanting OUR guns is our enemy. PERIOD. end of story.

  Do these idiots that call themselves Democrats understand and do they realize that these Veterans were not menatly ill when they went into the service and if they do have mental problems it is most likely what they saw in the war that they fought for this country trying to protect our country and our citizens. They did not cause the war, they did not ask for a war and they did not ask to see lots of their buddies killed or injured in action just like they didn’t ask to have a mental illness.
  How much longer are the voters going to allow the elected to control what we do and what we say? How many millions did we lose in Viet Nam and how many millions have we lost in the wars that are going on now? How much longer will the one who thinks he is God and the Lord and Savior of America continue to get away with the things he does. I got in touch with the Senators of my state about the stuff going on and how Obama is out to destroy this country, make it a Muslim nation and so much more and I got an answer back which I normally do but they are so stupid they skip over everything I ask and tell me they are doing what they can for the citizens of my state. Government is a joke and if people are not careful we will lose everything. All of our freedoms and all of our rights with the American hateing Muslim in charge

Obama has already made it clear that he considers military veterans a “terrorist threat”. Clearly, anyone capable of defending themselves and what they hold dear are a threat to him and his ilk. He wants to eliminate ALL threats to his tyrany. He knows he’ll never get ALL the guns, so he’ll go after those who are trained to use them as well.

  And it is time for that Muslim to go because he is out fo destroy this country and he has already said the Military are volunteers and should be paying their own insurance and so much more. Just how the hell does he feel the branches of the service are volunteers. How many of them would volunteer to go into the service when they think there is a chance for them to be killed or injured in a war?
  There was a bill of impeachment in both the House and Senate but it is only if he tries to go to war without the approval of Congress. Now he wants to raise the debt limit without the approval of Congress. How much longer are the people of this great country allow this monster to continue in his destruction of our rights and our freedoms. The Treasure of TX said that anyone who voted for Obama were maggots and they deserved what he did to them but what about the ones who didn’t vote for that mad crazy Muslim. Does he want to raise the debt limit so he can give billions to the illegal like he did to the black farmers for the treatement they received years ago? God knows he is for the illegal and how many of them voted for him this election because he said no to arresting and deporting them? How can he take the guns of citizens and the veterans when he didn’t go in the service but his draft card is sealed. He claims to be the president of the United States but he has never defended the country he only has bad things to say about America just like his ape lady said she was never more proud of America as when they voted a black man into office of President. He has to go before he destros this country completely and turns it into a nation of Muslim brotherhood.

the big question is who gets to certify that someone is incompetant MENTALLY to own a weapon. if you want a wild guess it will some government flack similar to the death panels being set up for seniors in mecical care (not one member is a medical professional)—-consider the wild example of these bean counters could possibly declare the joint chiefs of staff mentally incompetant to own weapons

  thats right, Plus right now you need to stock up on ammo water and food, Medical stuff, More gun’s if you need them and start to talk to your friends and Neighbors to get ready in-case something does happen
  you will need a plan and stick to it. Who determines the mental health status of the vets? An Obamacare doc? Uh, no thanks. As a vet, I find it extremely disturbing that this would even be a consideration; given the socialism, leading to communism, tilt of the federal government, I am not surprised. Take away freedoms and give something that looks so pretty on the surface, which is rife with restrictions and loss of freedoms. Of course, the government does not want vets, in any capacity, to have guns. We know how to use them. An armed citizenry keeps the federal government in check – we cannot lose this right.

This country is almost lost right now, we may never get it back . This is no more than an utterly shameless attempt to denigrate the service of every veteran and to deny them a Constitutional right on the PRETEXT of mental incompetency; a right not in question when they were taking training to protect the positions of those political parasites who, would now deny them a constitutional right they have defended at risk of life and limb in foreign lands through use of the firearms
the GOVERNMENT trained them to use. By any measure, it is an act against those who honored the oath to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC, as those self same enemies HAVE NOT: though they also swore the same oath! What is to be the determing factor of competency; whatever the political establishment thinks will fit their political expediency? What I am amazed at is: How someone thinks people are stupid enough not to vet this man and he has the “cahones” to climb into one of the highest positions in the world and pretend to be legitimate. That takes either someone of a diseased brain or someone who is so mentally ill, they think they deserve this, all the while knowing they are ineligible. Old “bathhouse” is not walking alone as this has been in the works for many, many years and the lower courts and media who have protected this conspiracy along with those treasonous wreches should be exposed and tried in criminal courts for their crimes against this country.
