Soldiers Ordered Not To Offend Radical Islamists
Well, strap in for this news: a new military handbook has been issued that orders soldiers to avoid engaging in topics that would offend radical Islamists. So, if you thought that the United States couldn’t get any more politically correct, you were dead wrong.
According to Pamela Gellar of atlasshrugs.com: “The draft leaked to the newspaper offers a list of “taboo conversation topics” that soldiers should avoid, including “making derogatory comments about the Taliban,” “advocating women’s rights,” “any criticism of pedophilia,” “directing any criticism towards Afghans,” “mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct” or “anything related to Islam.”
In addition to this madness, the manual also claims that it is not the Taliban that is causing the rise in attacks by Afghan soldiers, but a lack of understanding on the part of the West.
I’m sorry–What? Soldiers are not allowed to criticize pedophilia and cannot advocate for women’s rights? Ok, here’s what this means in my book:
1. The Obama administration is trying desperately to appease radical Islamists. They think that by “playing nice” with words, somehow, the terrorists will treat us in kind. Theycannot be that stupid (well…), so there must be another agenda at work.
2. By publishing manuals and regulations like this, we are weakening ourselves in the eyes of the enemy. This can only result in a stronger resolve to destroy us. It is not our actions that the enemy hates, it is simply us. They hate western culture, Christians and Jews, and they will stop at nothing to eliminate the us.
3. With this manual, soldiers are being ordered to passively support abuse of women, sexual misconduct and numerous other disgusting practices of radical Islamists. Soldiers are being forced to defy basic morality for the sake of political correctness. It’s foul.
In summary:
This is the backwards logic of the deranged Left. We are fighting an enemy, but we are not allowed to hurt their feelings. This defies human reasoning, but it fits right in with the Liberal world view. They believe that it is our fault that we were attacked on 9/11; that it is our support of Israel and our actions in the Middle-East that stirred the hatred of radical Islamists. In essence, we are the provocateurs, and they are the victims. Well, you can’t provoke the Devil. Radical Islam is an evil beast, and we are feeding it. When it grows strong, it will be our fault.

Why do we even have a military if they are not allowed to defend us? This has nothing to do with ideology, this is collusion with the enemy. They attacked us, we went to war, the war became "hearts and minds" and now placation and submission. Instead of killing the enemy, we borrow money to give to them, our government illegally run them guns to kill us and we force demoralization on our military for doing their jobs. Since Nov 6th, I am ashamed to be an American.

How many Americans have to get blown to pieces, before we treat natives with RESPECT that they deserve, IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY?
In fact, MacArthur ordered US troops to conform to Japanese customs after WW2, during our occupation of Japan..
If we'd treated the Vietnamese with more respect IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY, perhaps we wouldn't have lost 50,000 American boys there.
Why is this such a difficult lesson for us to learn?

For the white Left, their dominant emotion is fear. That is why they, perceiving a stronger and more barbaric power in the Muslims, side with them. The white Left is bringing about the destruction of the West by submission to the Muslims because they cleave to power and have no sense of identity or loyalty. Their gleeful sacrifice of the West in order to obey and submit to a brutal master is their natural impulse. So, I say, it is not a matter of belief, but of will.

Obama and Hillary C. can tell me from now on that they think it better to appease the radicals but I know better. And they know better as well. Obama and Hillary C. have a totally different thought about peace with the radicals because when you are a radical yourself it takes on a totally different meaning. I'm still trying to figure out just how it works for them but haven't made it yet.
If you make camp just over the ridge from radicals that doesn't mean you aren't part of their camp, it just means you just appear different.

Wellll..they are turncoats, yes, but can not show it openly. Cowards ? What they are doing don't seem cowardly, to me at least. They are hard at whatever they are doing and doing their best to hide it but yet leave signs on the trails. No doubt that payment will happen, even better than now, but it could all backfire on them. But when that day comes and we finally know what is going on, we can all become Americans again.

I agree with Connie. They are cowards. They are afraid, physically, of Muslims. Refusing to insult them, suppressing the truth about their crimes, legitimizing the evil by treating it as matter-of-fact, is what you do to submit, like one dog who cowers in front of another, licking his paws and refusing to look him in the eye. However, Obama is a different case. He is one of them, and an anti-Western racist. Obama is waging jihad from the inside, but Hillary and the rest are simply afraid.

You and I agree about Obama. I also think he is just part of it, thus is not a coward. Hillary is a turncoat like Connie and I agreed, but I just can't see her as a coward. I think she is digging for gold elsewhere and selling her soul to get it. That "elsewhere " is the unknown to me. Do you really believe she is doing anything worthwhile being overseas all the time spending our money. She would like us to believe she is doing us well. When I enlisted, part of the oath I took was to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domnestic.

@FormerLadyLaw: I'm mixed about Lincoln; in "saving" the union, he in fact defied and damaged the Constitution, opening the door for the incorporation of DC, and the consolidation of power there! Even though he didn't actually DO that, he set the stage for it. And we're now paying the price for it. But he had no right to refuse the states who seceded that action. The Bill of Rights, which includes that right, was necessary to get the Constitution ratified at all, because several of the states refused to do so without that right to withdraw in the future being included!

This is a bit of a surprise for me!!!!!...However, I do think we as Americans should always put our best foot forward in representing our country. Especially when dealing with the civilians while in another country. But,. also I feel that our service men and women need to know always that we have their back and support them them with all the resources and good wishes necessary to do the job and win. I am sure it would be difficult to be fighting for a country if you did not know that they were behind you in every way.

Granted I do try to see things in the best light. Hey I did not write the regulations! If you are unhappy about them....why not tell someone who can answer these questions.. Make you voice heard... But, .America just voted for change and these new regs may be a part of that change. So...you already know the answer to why certain subjects are going to be taboo
