Hello!
We have winter storm warnings across the southern Adirondacks right now - with 5 to 16 inches predicted. We're definitely due - I've only used the snow blower twice so far this winter. The first time was just before Thanksgiving, and the second was this past weekend.
We have two 'early bird' workshop deadlines coming up quickly. The first is for our High Peaks workshop being held at the Elk Lake Lodge in early October -http://www.carlheilman.com/photo.workshop.elklake.html . I will extend this 'early' rate until March 10 for anyone responding to this email. With the many islands, and the dramatic High Peaks circling much of the water, Elk Lake is one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the Adirondacks. There are numerous photography options within a short walk, canoe, or drive of the lodge that is situated along the south shore of the lake.
Also - Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in the American West workshop in Wyoming August 5 - 11- even if you are not siging up right away. We have to confirm with the ranch shortly and need an idea of how many participants there will be. This a a unique opportunity to experience and photograph iconic scenes, wildlife, and activities in the wild Rocky Mountains. Read the full description at http://www.carlheilman.com/photo.workshop.absaroka.html - and take advantage of the special rate that's good until Mar. 15.
We have a variety of workshops and tours coming up for this spring and summer held at our offices in Brant Lake, as well as other locations throughout the Adirondacks. Please check the full calendar listings at http://www.carlheilman.com/photo-workshops-calendar.html
LowePro has recently introduced one of the best camera bag options for our damp northeast conditions - fully waterproof camera bags. No more worrying about where you set the bag down on the ground or in the canoe - or what the weather is going to be! My favorite for backcountry travel is the DryZone Rover with a design that holds both hiking and camera gear and is a similar design to the older Orion AW. Check them out athttp://products.lowepro.com/catalog/Waterproof,18.htm .
Feel free to contact us with any questions about our workshop and tour listings!
Best,
Carl
