 | Fellow Americans,A few weeks ago the national debt ceiling was raised without a major fight in Congress or any real major news reporting. We now are spending more than 100% GDP and teetering on the brink of an endless pit of debt. The out-of-control spending must stop now. By 2035, our spending would be approaching 190 percent of GDP and, equally important, interest on that debt would be 9 percent of GDP — more than five times current levels. CBO's director, Douglas Elmendorf, writes that "under current law, the federal budget is on an unsustainable path."
The most disgusting fact is that most of the debt will be passed onto future generations. This is generational theft. We don't have a revenue/tax problem, we have a spending problem. Everyone, especially those that call themselves "Conservatives", must start leading the fight, or get out the way of those that will fight.
