Planned Parenthood speaker: “even traditional parents can appreciate” teen sex sleepovers

As critics accuse Planned Parenthood of trying to facilitate the sex lives of minors, a featured speaker at one of the abortion provider’s local affiliates has suggested parents allow their teenage children to have sex in their home.
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernadino Counties invited Amy T. Schalet, author of Not Under My Roof: Parents, Teens, and the Culture of Sex, to keynote the organization’s “Consider This” luncheon last week.
Dr. Schalet, an assistant sociology professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, said American parents should be more like their counterparts in the Netherlands, who allow teenagers to have sex openly under their roof. . . .
As she did in a New York Times op-ed, last year Schalet suggested parents who allowed open sexual activity in their homes exercised greater parental control over their children than those who preached abstinence. . . .
“Obviously sleepovers aren’t a direct route to family happiness,” Schalet wrote. “But even the most traditional parents can appreciate the virtue of having their children be comfortable bringing a girlfriend or boyfriend home, rather than have them sneak around.” . . .
Rita Diller, the national director of the American Life League’s Stop Planned Parenthood project, said in a statement e-mailed to LifeSiteNews.com. “Certainly, Planned Parenthood’s promotion of Amy Schalet’s ideal of a ‘sex playhouse’ for teens in the family home is one more manifestation of its tireless quest to promote sex among unmarried youth.” . . .
“Good parents and morality are stumbling blocks to Planned Parenthood,” Diller told LifeSiteNews. “This is one more example of the abortion giant’s never-ending attempt to create a society that will accept the unthinkable and embrace it as perfectly normal.”

I think this whole issue has something to do with school. Not public schools but the fact that we created a culture that kids need to be at school for 8 hours per day plus homework. When my grandparents married, they were 15 and 16 and nobody thought anything of it. They're still married to this day. Instead treating the youth at a certain age as adults, were forcing them to still be kids and send them to school. To me, and I know people have a problem with this, the younger people should have the option of going to school or getting into the workforce. The workforce is just as educational if not more so than schooling. Hey, my grandfather and his siblings have done just fine. Plus, they will learn true independence that way. But, I guess I think differently that way.

I agree with all of you so far who have called this "professor" an idiot. Yeah, that's what I want...my 14 year old daughter screwing her boyfirend in her bedroom while I help my 11 year old son with his math homework. Yuck! Give me a break!!

Working as planned. Read the "Communist Goals 1963" in the congressional record. #17,25, and 26 speak to this subject. Get control of schools, break down morality, and present abnormal sex as normal, and destroy the USA. # 40,and 41 also speak to destroy the family and need to educate children away from bad influence of family. There are 45 goals, and most are complete or on their way to destruction. Please read these and get your friends and family to read them.

I am so grateful that my parents taught me about God's plan for sex and marriage; I've been reaping the benefits for the past 13 years of my marriage. My husband and I are committed to teaching our children the same and providing rules that protect them from devastating consequences.

Oh, yes, let's help our children right down the path towards Hell, shall we? I have issues with the whole argument, "well, they're going to do it anyway, why not let them do it out in the open?" Say, what? Adam openly took the Apple Eve offered him, and he was no less "in trouble" for it. Our society as a whole is in trouble. Yes, it is harder to keep to the moral path. Even Christ said the road was narrow, but He didn't suggest to us, well, since it's so narrow, and I know you're going to transgress anyway, you might as well do it right in front of My face" Oi! Face/palm. And it is true that He didn't allow the group to stone the woman guilty of adultery, instead sending the group on their way after chastising them, "he who is without sin, let him cast the first stone," but at the same time, He also turned to the woman, noting that there was no one around to accuse her. But He didn't just let it go at that. He also told her to go forth and sin no more. I think many leave out this last bit.
Rush was right only he missed one, this Amy T. Schalet not only encourages kids to have sex but says "good" parents would approve. In my book this puts her (Amy T. Schalet) in the S word category plus the pimp category. Planned Parenthood should have more speakers like this, hopefully they will awaken the moral majority as to what is happening in this country.
If we're going to imitate other cultures, skip the Netherlands and try any one of a number of African countries. Thes are the examples we want our children to mimic. How about we just stay with a few old American values. Out with this liberal sod.

The Nazis REQUIRED parents to send their teen daughters to camp, and while in those 'camps' the teen girls were expected and required to have sex with teen Hitler Youth. The girls came home pregnant, and were considered heroes of the Third Reich. The difference with the Planned Parenthood woman is that she wants them to become pregnant, then have abortions.
