GOP Moves to Approve Keystone Pipeline... without Obama

How many speeches has Barack Obama given on jobs? How many times has he said the economy is his number one priority? Unfortunately, his rhetoric doesn't match his actions. The only suitable job worth creating to him is a government job. When it came time to approve the Keystone Pipeline, a project that would transport oil from Canada to the refineries in the Gulf states, Obama said no. Tens of thousands of jobs would have been created, but politics won the day. Now, GOP members of the U.S. Senate are using the Constitution in an attempt to approve the pipeline without Obama's consent.

If Gingrich loses in Florida can he come back again?

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Can Newt Gingrich come back a third time? If he loses Tuesday in Florida's primary - polls predict he will - Gingrich will spend the next month trying to prove the answer is yes. "We were dead in June and July, but we came roaring back and we will again," Gingrich said at a rally Monday in Tampa.

Many Federal Workers Out-Earn Private Sector Labor

WASHINGTON (AP) - The average federal worker earns about 2 percent more than a private sector worker in a comparable profession, though the government's generous pension system means that overall compensation is significantly higher, a government study released Monday said. Once pension and health benefits are factored in, the average federal worker reaps 16 percent more in total compensation than do private sector workers.

News, Commentary, Discussions

Let's Honor, Not Stretch, the Buckley Rule
In the intense heat of the present, it is easy to forget even the relatively recent past, but it seems to me that this GOP primary season is more acrimonious than the past few, probably because the stakes are so high.

Santorum denounces 'gutter politics' of opponents
COTTLEVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum denounced the "gutter politics" of his opponents Monday as he turned his campaign away from a potentially futile effort in Florida in hopes of regaining momentum in the Midwest.

Jan Brewer's Photo With Obama
The now-famous picture of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer shaking her finger at President Barack Obama is both appropriate and deserved. In America, we don't have rulers entitled to the deference and obsequiousness other countries show to their kings.

Getting Nowhere, Very Fast
California has a huge state debt and Washington has a huge national debt. But that does not discourage either Governor Jerry Brown or President Barack Obama from wanting to launch a very costly high-speed rail system.

Proof Voters Are Smarter Than Media and Washington Elite
I think the mainstream media and Washington elite think the majority of voters just fell off the turnip truck. But the South Carolina primary and other current voting trends show otherwise.

Longing for Sarah or Mike or Marco or Paul
Unless someone drops out before you read this, there are four men left standing in the race for the Republican presidential nomination: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul.

Re: Catholic Church Rejects Surrender Terms from Obama (Cliff Kincaid)

All "true" Christians and their churches should band together to fight this. Our country is going to pot. Please tell others to forward this to every conservative church in the country. I say conservative because there are many "Feel Good" churches who are not walking with the word of the Lord.
-- Dee Masteller, Sun City West, AZ

I am not Catholic, but I am Christian. I'm 100% in agreement with the Catholic Church on this one.
-- Marilyn Pinkstaff, Pawnee, OK

Perhaps the Catholic church should excommunicate those Catholic Congress men and women who voted for Obamacare, as well as excommunicate Ms. Sebelius since she is the head of HHS and is the one making these rules.
-- Kimery McKaskle, Houston, TX

It is a pleasure to read what many have thought. We as Christians must stand up for what we know is right, to keep all the freedoms that our forefathers fought hard to win for us. May you be blessed for speaking out "boldly." Keep up the good work.
