As I write this email, jackbooted thugs from the Department of Justice are now trampling on our First Amendment Rights online and through individual expression of free speech. On Wednesday, thousands of websites ranging from Google to tea party websites went black and made millions of users aware of two dangerous bills, House Bill H.R. 3261 SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) & Senate Companion Bill S.968 (PROTECT IP). For the first time in many years, millions of Americans stood united against government censorship of the Internet.
The result was that SOPA and PROTECT IP lost support in Congress with members making statements against it or dropping support for the legislation as did Senator Marco Rubio. --- Sounds like good news right? In an act of terror and tyranny, the US Department of Justice shut down a popular website, Megaupload.com, without due process or any kind of TRIAL. Megaupload.com is used by over 150 million users around the world and gets 50 million hits daily. If the government can shut down Megaupload.com, they can shut down any other website!

The Rubicon has now been crossed. The very bonds of trust and faith between We The People are now being replaced with the barbwire of tyranny. This comes on the heals of unconstitutional legislation such as the NDAA (which allows for the indefinite detention of US Citizens without trial) and the Ex-patriate Act (which allows for government to takeaway your citizenship). Mainstream news also failed to report the $1.2 trillion of additional national debt. We are now spending over 100% of our GDP!
I will not lie to you and tell you that replacing President Obama and putting Republicans in power is the solution to our problem, because both the Republican and Democrat Parties have formed an unholy alliance with Big Government and Big Corporations. Nearly every day we see bad legislation proposed we see has support from both sides. For example, Republican Congressman Lamar Smith is responsible for the SOPA (aka Government Censorship of the Internet). Smith claims to be a "Tea Party" Caucus member!
Unfortunately we are now seeing some groups that have formed calling themselves tea party organizations allowing themselves to also join in this alliance and have been taken under the wing of the Republican party by conducting joint business, sharing facilities and other resources. We should demand more from everyone and demand that those who state they are our allies. They should also dedicated to the ideals of free markets, limited government, and fiscal responsibility live these principals and remain indecent and free from conflicts of interest.
And remember, the tea party is as strong as we make it. Stand up and demand more from your friends, family, even your foes and demand more from your organizations. Lets bring the fight harder and more effective than before and invigorate those who are dedicated to our cause.
