In the weeks and months leading up to the Declaration of Independence, the offenses of the King of England against the Colonies were clearly identified and understood. Can we do the same with our Congress today? Stated another way, what are the offenses of Congress against the people of America today? Here are three:
The destruction of personal property rights. Theft comes in many forms, but when it happens under the direction and authority of the government, it is especially pernicious. Congress, in cahoots with the White House, enacts law to reduce the principle or the interest rate on real estate contracts that were legally and willingly agreed to by two consenting parties. Yes, I'm speaking of the housing market, and although I agree it is a terrible condition for so many people to have homes "underwater", this should not give Congress the ability to strip banks or others of their property rights - even while they ignore their own culpability in creating the mess. We need contract law and the protection of property rights to remain intact even if the opinion of the market says our homes are worth less today than a few years ago.
The destruction of our sovereignty. Congress is wrong when they destroy the sovereign rights of this nation by abdicating governance of America to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization , the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Monetary Fund and any other non-governmental organization willing to impose their will on the U.S.. They can express their opinions until a cow jumps over the moon - but the United States is not subject to the positions of global opinion makers. Treaties are Constitutional and must be agreed to between nations - only then, and when approved of by the U.S. Senate do they become binding upon the American people.
The destruction of the U.S. dollar. It is widely understood the objective of the Federal Reserve is to devalue the dollar . This means the dollars we work for, increasingly become less valuable in the global economy. Why would Congress go along with this objective? Because they have abdicated their responsibilities to control our currency as directed in the Constitution. They do this because they are addicted to spending and need a constant stream of borrowed funds from creditor nations like China, Germany and others. By devaluing the dollar, they stimulate more lending so they can satisfy their addictions and buy votes with government handouts.
It is time we throw the career politicians out of our nations capital. We need citizens who are willing to stand on principle instead of standing on the backs of the American people term after term after elected term. Say NO to the career politicians and tell them to go find a job in the private sector.
