| This week in Guns & Patriots...
Neil W. McCabe, Editor Dear Guns & Patriots readers, Our immigration policy and practice is horrible. What we now have is the classic sign of a broken system: the dumbbell. On one end, we have a legal process that is long, arduous, and so complicated, its sole purpose seems to be the guarantee of full-employment in the immigration bar. On the other end, millions of illegal aliens come and go as they please. In my own life, I have been waiting for 18 months to complete the fiancée visa process for the beautiful and brilliant Qiao Hong, a women I met in Cambridge, where she was a medical researcher. Qiao took a job in Japan before my deployment to Iraq and there she waits. We are now in Step Three of a four-step process. Meanwhile, time ticks away. It would be so much easier to just bring her in on a tourist visa, then have her overstay, but I want this to be all correct. It is the same for other law-abiding citizens, once again the fools. The Federation for American Immigration Reform, this week's sponsor has a point of view; you should take some time to consider. FAIR estimates that illegal immigration costs Americans more than $100 per year. If you are ready to take a stand against illegal immigration and in support of enforcing current immigration laws click here. FAIR also provided this week's video. Our Go button this week will take you to an online archive of hundreds of rare photographs from WWII collected by the Atlantic magazine. Many are disturbing, but Atlantic has a warning on those that makes you click-in to open the image. Finally, on the GunCount front, we have added new features to make this private and secure gun inventory program more robust. Once you download the program onto your own local drive, you are have access to every new version as it comes out – whether you choose the no-charge GunCountFree, for collections of 10 guns or less, or GunCountPlus, for collections greater than 10 guns. Enjoy, Neil W. McCabe Editor, Guns & Patriots |
