‘Gay hate list’: Farah, Perkins, Colson, more

‘Gay hate list’: Farah, Perkins, Colson, more

Bill Donohue
WASHINGTON – The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has created an enemies list of 36 commentators – including pastors, authors, radio talk-show hosts, pro-family activists and researchers – in an effort to limit the effectiveness of their media outreach.
The list includes Chuck Colson, Joseph Farah, Tony Perkins, Don Wildmon, David Barton, Bill Donohue and Gary Bauer.
The formulation of the list is the work of GLAAD’s “Commentator Accountability Project” that aims to “educate the media about the extreme rhetoric of over three dozen activists who are often given a platform to speak in opposition to LGBT people and the issues that affect their lives.”
Don Wildmon
“Hate is not an expert opinion,” said GLAAD’s Herndon Graddick. “In most cases, news outlets invite reputable experts to speak on the subject at hand, but when talking about LGBT issues, open hostility and anti-LGBT bias seems to be all the credibility required. This project holds these so-called ‘pundits’ accountable for the extreme anti-LGBT rhetoric they continue to spread.”
GLAAD encourages individuals to alert the organization when those on the enemies list appear on local or national news.
In response, Farah said he has never spoken a hateful or defamatory word about homosexuals in his life.
Chuck Colson
“The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation should more accurately be called the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Criticism,” said Farah. “These people actually believe that if you have a different viewpoint and a different value system from them you are a hate-filled, bigoted monster. Here’s a group that claims in its own name that it is ‘against defamation,’ but actively defames those with whom it has disagreements. Not one example of hateful or defamatory language is offered as evidence against any of those listed in this report.”
Matt Barber, vice president of Liberty Counsel Action, also is listed, and said, “I count it an honor to be included among such a distinguished list of pro-family warriors. As Christ followers, we will never stop speaking God’s truth in love.”
The people targeted by GLAAD include: Alan Chambers, Albert Mohler, Bill Donohue, Bob Emrich, Bob Vander Plaats, Brian Brown, Brian Camenker, Bryan Fischer, Candi Cushman, Christopher Plante, Chuck Colson, David Barton, Don Wildmon, Frank Turek, Gary Bauer, Glenn Stanton, Harry Jackson, Jennifer Roback Morse, Jim Daly, Jim Garlow, Joseph Farah, Ken Hutcherson, Kevin McCullough, Lou Engle, Maggie Gallagher, Mat Staver, Matt Barber, Michael Brown, Penny Nance, Peter LaBarbera, Peter Sprigg, Rick Scarborough, Robert George, Scott Lively, Tim Wildmon, and Tony Perkins.
McCullough, a nationally syndicated radio host and one of the 36 commentators, said it is ironic that GLAAD’s goal of “shutting people’s voices down … will somehow make their arguments more sound.”
He said, “I’ve never appeared as someone who claimed to even represent much less serve as an ‘expert’ on the private lives of the LGBT community. … When I am asked to speak on a public forum it is as a person who speaks with and interacts with millions of people daily through a media company that myself and actor Stephen Baldwin began four years ago. Because we have a platform that engages people in conversation about these things and every other cultural issue imaginable we have a good idea of how OUR constituents think.”
“Now there is an accessible hub for these quotes … to ensure that pundits don’t get away with being conservative standard-bearers without taking responsibility for the many dangerous lies and offensive values that define them.”
The Alliance Defense Fund said the project simply “targets free speech.”

  • Why are these anti-gay activists afraid of what is being reported what they have said and believe? What are they afraid of exactly? I mean, they should be proud for their anti-gay rhetoric? Well of course, they would rather have more mainstream shows not know how rabidly anti-gay they are in fact. They don't want mainstream audiences to know their obsession with homosexuality.
  • Jerome: they're not afraid, and the article never even hinted that they were.

You need a life Jerome.  The obession is not with this community.  The obsession is with not compromising one's values, morals, principles, that the LGBT community so happily wishes to destroy.  Thank you very much Barbara Johnson.  She may think she succeeded, but she didn't and I wonder if she would have done the same thing while her mother was alive.

sure, it's just that they tend to "not compromise their beliefs" most often about homosexuality.  Almost to the exclusion of all else in fact.
  • Queers would get less resentment if they quit attempting to shove their perversions down peoples throats. However, they figure their "in your face" agenda is really going to get them something special. I'd say probably so, but perhaps not what they seek.
  • I feel left out.  They didn't include me.  I speak out against homosexuality all the time to everybody.  It is perverted and a sin against God Almighty.  Why wasn't I included in their hate list?

because you aren't regularly given a national audience.

The list is very long Ann, don't you fret. . .your name is on the most important list of all. . it's written in the Book of Life. . .accept no substitutes!  Besides, the hate list, it's gonna go up in flames!!

This is an opportunity to show the LGBT community just how strong we are.
We need to pray that GOD will open their eyes and hearts and see Jesus for who He is.
Bless those that curse you.  As ROMANS 12:20 says, "Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him: if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head."
Give them over to GOD in prayer. Lit GOD deal with them, for only He can change a person's heart.  Don't cruse them, don't pass judgment on them, give them to GOD, let us do His will and lit Him do our bidding.

Yeah, good luck with that.  All the faith in the world can't change reality.
