We're Using the Wrong Kind of Gas

 Dear Patriot, If you've followed politics long enough, you expect Democrats to waste taxpayer money on useless handouts to their political allies. So it's no surprise to me that the government is subsidizing the development, production and sale of electric cars that people just don't want to buy. And considering Democrats are so invested in their "green car" scam, it's no surprise that the Obama Administration admits it wants gas prices to go up. What is surprising to me though, is that Republicans aren't fighting this wasteful assault on working families with common-sense, market-driven solutions. Especially when the solutions are so obvious. Everyone is afraid of what rising gas prices will mean for them and their family. But meanwhile, America is awash in cheap, home-grown natural gas. And did you know that, with minimal modifications, any car can be modified to run on this cheap, clean, domestically-produced energy? Well, you could if the government would forget its expensive, impractical electric cars and loosen regulations on natural gas conversions. Then we wouldn't have to worry about rising oil prices and refinery shortages, and we could drive cheaper and cleaner without sending our gas money to enemies abroad. Instead of getting caught up in distractions and silly debates, conservatives need to preach the power of the market. Just by getting rid of a little red tape and letting the market work, we could save billions on subsidies, free ourselves from foreign oil and beat the pain at the pump.
