Dear Jack, Your action is needed IMMEDIATELY! If Republicans in the State Legislature stand strong, they have the votes to pass legislation that would prohibit public sector monopoly bargaining and prevent government union bosses from holding government and taxpayers in Arizona hostage. In state after state where Big Labor has monopoly bargaining powers, costs skyrocket while quality of service declines, and, ultimately, Big Labor becomes the most powerful force in state politics. Senate Bill 1485 and House Bill 2318 would prevent government union officials from gaining this sort of stranglehold on Arizona. But the union bosses won't let go of their power without a fight and they're putting unbelievable pressure on lawmakers to oppose these bills. That's why it's vital you contact your legislators at once. DEMAND they support S.B. 1485 and H.B. 2318 unamended. The fact is, public sector monopoly bargaining means wasteful work rules, job featherbedding, and more work disruptions -- guaranteeing all citizens ultimately pay higher taxes but get less from their tax dollars in return. Worse, government union bosses' reckless promises and gross mismanagement of public pension funds across the nation have left taxpayers on the hook to the tune of $TRILLIONS! Efforts by government to operate more efficiently are nearly always opposed by top union brass. The fact is the imposition of compulsory unionism on government employment increases costs. Arizona has the opportunity to protect the interest of citizens and taxpayers by prohibiting public sector monopoly bargaining -- But, only if you act immediately! The monopoly bargaining system was developed for the private sector. As destructive as that model is in the private sector, it's even MORE DANGEROUS when exercised by public sector union officials. Indeed, as Forbes magazine noted, "Precisely because of the obvious potential for abuse, even labor union advocates like AFL-CIO president George Meany and Franklin D. Roosevelt viewed unionization of the public sector as unthinkable." With Republicans holding overwhelming majorities in both houses of the State Legislature, and a Republican Governor in office, there has never been a better opportunity to take on the government union bosses. It's vital you act TODAY. Here's what you can do to help: 1) Contact your state senator and state representative and urge them to cast their every vote for S.B. 1485 and H.B. 2318; 2) Ask friends, relatives and business associates to contact their elected officials in support of the Bill. For years Big Labor has tried to close its fist around Arizona workers, citizens and taxpayers by passing a public sector monopoly bargaining law. You can be sure the union bosses won't give up easily. That's why your IMMEDIATE action is so vital. Sincerely, Mark Mix P.S. Arizona can't afford to be crushed in the grip of Government union bosses. That's why it's vital you contact your legislatorsIMMEDIATELY, and urge them to put a stop government union bosses' monopoly bargaining scheme once and for all.
