Jack, The National Right to Work Foundation has set a goal to raise $100,000 before midnight, December 31, to help start the new year off on the right foot. You see, the Foundation must be ready to oppose the forced-unionism power grabs looming in 2012, as well as defend workers in the almost 200 active cases they are providing free legal aid for. Will you help the Foundation reach its goal by chipping in with a donation of $10, $25 or more now? No matter how much you can afford to give, your donation is vital in standing against Big Labor in 2012. And remember, any amount you give to the Foundation is tax-deductible. Please click here to make a tax-deductible donation now. If you need more information, please read the email below. Sincerely, Sheila W. National Right to Work Foundation From: Mark Mix [mark.mix@ To: Sheila W [sheila@righttoworkfoundation. Sent: Thursday, December 22, 2011 4:57 PM Subject: Help fight for 2012 Dear Jack, Big Labor's forced-unionism agenda has suffered legislative setbacks in the past few years but . . . . . . make no mistake, union officials are not giving up. And why should they? They have the Obama Administration and the federal bureaucracy to give them what Congress did not -- more forced-dues paying members. It is clear that over the last two years, the Obama Administration has worked to expand new forced-unionism powers through back room, closed-door bureaucratic maneuvers. And Big Labor is already gearing up its BILLION dollar forced-dues political machine for 2012. You and I know better than almost anyone that we should never -- never underestimate them! That's why the National Right to Work Foundation must start 2012 at full strength by raising $100,000 by midnight December 31. Should the union bosses succeed with their billion-dollar forced-dues agenda, they will: **** DRIVE THE ECONOMY FURTHER INTO RECESSION. Obama Labor Board-mandated Card Check instant organizing will sweep small and medium businesses into forced unionism, wiping out good American jobs, bankrupting companies, and ruining families' dreams of financial security. **** IGNITE THE WILDFIRE OF INFLATION. Union featherbedding and sweetheart contracts will help drive the cost of houses, cars, schools, and everyday goods through the roof. Once again, senior citizens will be stuck with savings or retirement wages too small to pay the bills. **** ATTACK JOB-CREATING RIGHT TO WORK LAWS. Bureaucrats at the Obama Labor Board and Department of Labor are working fast and furious to undermine state Right to Work laws. They are tried to prosecute American companies like Boeing that create jobs in Right to Work states where union bosses cannot compel workers to pay dues. **** PROMOTE MORE TAXES, SPENDING, AND DEBT. Using their multi-billion dollar political war chest, Big Labor is intent on electing more union-label politicians in Congress and the White House, buying votes with massive new pork barrel projects and bulging bureaucracies. That's why I am writing you today. The good news is, with your support, the National Right to Work Foundation will oppose forced-unionism power grabs and provide free legal aid to workers who don't want their compulsory dues to support Big Labor's tax-and-spend politics. And remember that if you make a contribution right away, it will be fully tax-deductible for 2011. There are only a few days left to take advantage of a tax-deductible contribution this year. Will you help the Foundation raise $100,000 by midnight December 31 by making a contribution now? Please click here to donate now. Foundation attorneys are currently fighting on several fronts on issues that will likely all be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. These include union lawyers' groundless legal assault against Wisconsin’s new government-sector Right to Work law, which Foundation attorneys are defending in federal court. Thanks to you and literally tens of thousands of Americans like you, the National Right to Work Foundation stands out because it is so effective. Our attorneys have gone toe-to-toe with union lawyers at the U.S. Supreme Court 14 times, to say nothing of hundreds and hundreds of other cases in the lower courts. In fact, as I write this, we have nearly 200 active cases including our 15th trip to the U.S. Supreme Court, where Foundation staff attorneys will be up against the SEIU lawyers in early January. In addition to the critical cases defending individual workers and establishing Supreme Court precedents, your Foundation can tackle Big Labor directly by: **** Attacking Big Labor's massive forced-dues-for-politics machinery by filing hundreds of cases defending workers' Foundation-won rights to avoid supporting union boss politics. **** Defending the nation's 22 state Right to Work laws. Even if union bosses fail to completely erase these popular laws by repealing Section 14(b) of the Taft-Hartley Act, union lawyers are always plotting ways to undermine them in the courts -- which is exactly what they're doing in Wisconsin right now. **** Blocking Big Labor's schemes to jam new workers into compulsory unionism using so-called "neutrality agreements" and Card Check instant organizing. These agreements browbeat employers to hand over their employees to union bosses without opposition or a secret ballot, instead using union-controlled "card checks." With your continued support in the critical months ahead, the Foundation will challenge Barack Obama's forced-unionism agenda by attacking new union power grabs in the courts. The enormous scope of the union bosses' political effort in the last election demonstrates the magnitude of the danger we face. Union bosses are ready to mount an even larger forced-dues campaign in 2012 to keep the White House -- and the bureaucracy that comes with it. And 2012 is shaping up as a critical year. Already, union bosses are bragging that the 2012 campaign will trump their gargantuan BILLION-DOLLAR plus, forced-dues funded effort in the last election. At a Labor Day political rally, Teamster union chief Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. urged his "army" of union militants to "take these sons of (expletive) out" -- referring to the citizens and elected officials who oppose bigger government, higher taxes and more union power grabs. With the stakes so high -- and Big Labor poised to do even more than before -- your Foundation must meet the challenge head on. That's why I hope you will honor my request for a special tax-deductible, year-end contribution to help the Foundation reach its goal of $100,000 by midnight December 31. With your support, your Foundation can blow apart Big Labor's 2012 forced-dues-for-politics schemes and keep maximum pressure on the courts to free workers from compulsory unionism, chopping at the root of union boss power. So please make a special end-of-year, tax-deductible contribution of right away. The fact is -- as we're forced to respond to an out-of-control federal bureaucracy and desperate attempts to reverse duly-enacted monopoly bargaining reforms in Wisconsin -- Foundation fundraising has faced a challenging climate in 2011. Put simply: 2012 is projected to be our busiest year yet. The Foundation's strategic litigation program requires a commitment of resources that can last for several years before a case is brought to a successful completion. As a prudent steward of your resources, I am reluctant to take on major commitments unless I am sure the funding will be there. That's why your contribution of $25 -- or $50 or $100 -- if you can be that generous -- is so crucial today. But if that's too much, please consider chipping in with a donation of at least $10. Whatever you can best afford, please continue to stand with your Foundation as we defend the right of workers to be free from union boss tyranny. Sincerely, Mark Mix P.S. Big Labor is already gearing up its forced-dues campaign to keep the White House and the Senate in the next election cycle. And they continue to work with their allies in the Obama Administration to pursue even more outrageous bureaucratic power grabs. The Foundation has set a goal of raising at least $100,000 by midnight December 31 to help defend against these attacks. Please consider a tax-deductible, year-end contribution to the National Right to Work Foundation today as we defend workers who don't want their compulsory dues to support Big Labor's politics. |
